Ramkhamhaeng University International Program (English Program): 

International Program Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration, Ph.D. (Business Administration)

This international program is offered in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiangrai,
Hat Yai,Nakhon Ratchasima, Phuket, and Surat Thani.

The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Program in Business Administration (English Program) has been developed in response to the high demand of graduates in business in the present, rapidly changing environment of the transition economies. The vision for the economic and social development of the nation must have the appropriate human resource development policy, especially in regard to doctoral programs. This Ph.D. research program will help the candidates to acquire new ways of thinking and attain competence in conducting research. They will be allowed to study and experiment freely in order to discover the new issues and to enable them to create real academic progress.

IIS-RU's goal is to provide a qualitative PhD. Program to help meet the demand for higher graduate education and contribute to academic development.

Application Requirements

Applicants must hold a Master degree or Bachelor degree from an educational institute or University recognized by the Thai Ministry of University Affairs. The degree may be in any field of study.

Applicants who hold a Bachelor degree must have obtained first class hon ours, or the highest hon our awarded, from a University recognized by the Thai Ministry of University Affairs. In such case, a transfer of credits will be approved by the Administration Committee of IIS-RU.

Selection Procedures (Eligibility Criteria)

Applicants must pass the interviewing panel before being admitted to the Ph.D. program. This selection will be in accordance with the rules of graduate studies (1995); Ramkhamhaeng University, No. 8.4 of section 1 and No. 9.4. of section 2 (can be requested in copy from IIS-RU).

Time Limits

Applicants who earned a Bachelor degree (with Hon ours) must complete the Ph.D. program in not more than 8 years. Applicants who earned a Master degree must complete the Ph.D. program in not more than 5 years.

At present, only one program (the Research Program) is offered. The following table shows the program structure.

Seminar Workshops and Dissertations listed below are mandatory. In addition, IIS-RU provides support activities from which candidates can elect to take some special business courses, such as

• Operations Research
• Quantitative Analysis for Business Decisions
• Strategic Management
• Information Technology
• Managerial Economics
• International Business, etc.

In the Colloquium Courses, experts and others involved in interesting topics will be invited to lecture and exchange ideas as special guests. Candidates will have the opportunity to present interesting topics or special topics in related fields.
