The Special Lecture of the International and ASEAN Day 2016,
On the Title: ASEAN in Today’s World
On Wednesday 14 September 2016, the Institute of International Studies, Ramkhamhaeng University (IIS-RU) hosted the event “The Special Lecture of the International and ASEAN Day 2016, On the Title: ASEAN in Today’s World” at 7th Floor, RU Printing Building Press.
The Director of IIS-RU, Mr. Satin Soonthornpan, and members of IIS-RU Executive Committee participated in this event. Mr. Soonthornpan gave an opening speech to students and attendants. The representation was from Mr. Voradet Viravakin, the Former Thai Ambassador of South Africa and many accredited countries in Southern African continent; Former Director-General of Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand; and Former Thai Consul-General in Penang, Malaysia
Mr. Viravakin talked about ASEAN in terms of Economics, Education, and Investment. He emphasized labor market in Thailand and the ASEAN countries. The outcome of the collaboration expansion has identified the negative impacts on Thai college students if there are no awareness and preparation for higher skills and education.
In the late event, Prof. Dr. Lucy Tan-atichat, IIS-RU lecturer, and the students joined with questions about the ASEAN community.
