Conservation Project for Thai and International Arts and Cultures 2019

The Committee of Art and Culture Conservation of Institute of International Studies, Ramkhamhaeng University (IIS-RU) organized the Conservation Project for Thai and International Arts and Cultures on Friday 11 January 2019 during 12.30 – 16.30 pm. at the printing press building.

Preservation of Thai art and culture appeared to be one of important aspects and criteria in terms of quality assurance in all Thai higher education institutions. It can be said that culture is a powerful tool to build bridges between people, notably the young, and reinforce mutual understanding among other people who come from diverse cultural background such as the context of Institute of International Studies. Thus, Institute of International Studies (IIS) attempted to organize such event annually in order to promote both Thai and international arts and cultures. In fact, the objectives of this project were twofold: (1) to provide the opportunity for students and staffs to preserve the arts and cultures, particularly, Thai and international food and (2) to develop students and staffs’ knowledge and better understanding about Thai and international food.

For all these reasons, Institute of International Studies (IIS), in collaboration with the Department of Home Economics, Faculty of Education, Ramkhamhaeng University, were very delighted to have the opportunity to organize this meaningful event. This event consisted of presentations including booth for food cooking demonstration, booth of Thai herbal drinks and a wide range of food booths from different countries, for example, Thai, European, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese. Most of the booths were organized and supported by home economic-majored students from the Faculty of Education, working under the supervision of Assistant Professor Bhushit Swangsuk who specializes in related sub-fields of international and western food, food culture, food decoration, fruit and vegetable carving, drink decoration and many more about food and drinks. On behalf of the Institute of International Studies, Ramkhamhaeng University (IIS-RU), we would therefore like to sincerely thank him and his students for support and participation.
