Application Process for Undergraduate Programs

Your High-School Diploma is not from a Thai School?

  1. In this case, you need to get a confirmation in your country that your high-school diploma is equivalent to the U.S. grade 12 high-school diplomas, or the British university entrance diploma, or Mathayom 6 of Thailand.
  2. Certifying authority can be any accredited educational organization, such as state or state accredited schools, universities, or the ministry of education in your country.
  3. A signature and an official seal are needed for credibility. Please be prepared to submit the original document with your application papers.
  4. If necessary, you can get this certification also in Bangkok, either at the education section of your embassy or in the Ministry of Education. Besides the effort that needs, especially requesting the certification at the Ministry of Education is a time consuming process. Since they will send a letter to your school and then wait for the answer, you should consider about two months until you have the paper in hands. You certainly can already start your studies, but the uncertainty remains over this period of time.

  1. This process applies to applicants of any nationality who apply for a program within Thailand. Please note that your application in this case is considered complete only after payment of the application fee (see below).

  2. 4 Photocopies of High School Transcript.
  3. 4 Photocopies of High School Diploma.
  4. 7 Photocopies of Passport.
  5. 7 Photocopies of Passport Main page translated in to Thai.
  6. A Medical Certificate 1 original. (taken within 1 month)
  7. Education Equivalent Certificate.
  8. Application fee 1,000.- Baht.
  9. High School Address.

The eligible candidate for non-degree program at IIS-RU

  1. Students who applied for this program via educational agencies both domestically and internationally.
  2. Students who are studying in universities both domestically and internationally, intending to study in non-degree program in order to earn credits and transfer them back to their home universities. (The official letter of request from the Registrar or the Dean of the Faculty or the President of the Home University is required, attaching with the application form)
  3. Candidates who have completed their degrees both Thai and foreign nationals and are currently working private companies and state agencies or organizations in Thailand or abroad, they can apply for this program. The official letters of request from the current employers showing the reason and intents of study of candidates have to be submitted as a required application document.

Those candidates as the following list will not be allowed to apply and study in the non-degree program at IIS-RU

  1. Candidates who are currently holding the tourist-type visa as their first arrival in Thailand and intend to apply for non-degree program in order to change visa to be educational type for longer stay in Thailand.
  2. Candidates who are currently holding the tourist-type visa as their first arrival in Thailand and are studying in the language schools.
  3. Candidates who are currently holding the tourist-type visa as their first arrival in Thailand and they are in the period of application to be full-time program students of all levels at IIS-RU, but have not pass the application requirements, selection process, and not be completely admitted as full-time students by tuition fee paid.
  4. Candidates who nearly graduate from full-time programs of all levels at IIS-RU and currently are in the process of request for graduation or participation of commencement ceremony.
  5. Candidates who passed all application requirements, selection process, and were completely admitted as full-time students by tuition fee paid will not be allowed to change their study from full-time programs to be non-degree program.

Application Process for Graduate Programs

You apply from outside Thailand?

You may apply by mail with all required papers and pictures (as described for applicants from within Thailand below), or you may choose the simplified application process by e-mail.

This simplified application process applies for applicants of any nationality applying from outside Thailand only.

Please download the Application Form for the program of your choice, complete it, and send it together with a recent photo per e-mail to IIS-RU.

If accepted, you will receive a Letter of Admission or Acceptance. With this letter, you get a student visa at the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in your country.

At the day of registration, you have to submit the papers and pictures as described in the process for applicants within Thailand below. Then, you also can pay the application fee (see below).

  1. This process applies to applicants of any nationalitywho apply for a program within Thailand. Please note that your application in this case is considered complete only after payment of the application fee (see below).

1.   Submit 3 photocopies of official Bachelor transcript record and diploma (for applicant of Master program).

2.   Submit 3 photocopies of official Bachelor and Master Degrees transcript records and diplomas (for applicant of PhD program).

3.   Submit 6 color photos wearing shirt or suit (2-inch in size for Graduate Student and must be taken within 6 months prior to the application).

4.   Submit original document indicating medical fitness (Medical Certificate).

5.   Submit 3 photocopies of the ID card (for Thai citizens and permanent residents only).

6.   Submit 3 photo copies of residence registration (for Thai citizens and permanent residents only).

7.   Submit 3 photocopies of Passport for foreign student (Translated version from Translation Center, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University or Ramkhamhaeng Institute of Languages (RIL), Ramkhamhaeng University only is required).

8.   A certificate of international standardized test such as a minimum TOEFL IBT of 78 points or a minimum IELTS of 6.0, if applicable (TOEIC is not accepted as a proof of English proficiency)

  1. You may apply in person or send your application documents by mail (in case you apply in person, please find here the IIS-RU location map). 
  2. The application forms for all study centersare processed at IIS-RU in Ramkhamhaeng University, Bangkok. Applying in person, therefore, means that you come to the office of IIS-RU in Bangkok. Whether you apply in person or send your application document by mail, in both cases, the address is as follows:
