Community Service to rural school in Nakhorn Rajasima Province

The Institute of International Studies, Ramkhamhaeng University in cooperation with Ban Makha-ngam school organized the academic service project to the local community entitled “The English language Teaching Project to Ban Makha-ngam students 2015” under the theme “Learning English Language through ASEAN community” It was placed on 22nd January 2015     8.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon at Ban Maka-nagm School, Nakhoen Rajasima Province.

The project started with the welcoming speech from the representative of Makha-nagm school followed with the Director of the IIS-RU, Mr. Satin Soonthornpan which informed the students about the importance of English language in everyday life and convinced the students to speak English in preparation to the forthcoming ASEAN community. Approximate 70 primary school student from grade 4-6 attended in this activity.

The activity began with giving students the overview of ASEAN. The lessons are divided into 4 different sections including ASEAN general information and greetings, National Animals of AEAN Countries, ASEAN traditional Costumes and National Dishes of ASEAN. Moreover, the Director, lecturer, and IIS-RU staffs also donated food, drink, snacks, books, study material and toys to the school. From the observation, the students were very happy and enjoyed with the activities which brought us a big success to the IIS-RU to contribute happiness to the community and to achieve the project’s objective in taking social responsibility.
