IIS-RU participated in Ramkhamhaeng Unites to Wear Thai Textiles

to honor H.M. Queen Sirikit 12th.

Every year on August 12, Thai people would come together to hold a ceremony for Her Royal Highness Majesty Queen Sirikit’s birthday. On this H.M. Queen Sirikit 84th Birthday anniversary, Ramkhamhaeng University arranged the event “Ramkhamhaeng Unites to Wear Thai Textiles to Honor H.M. Queen Sirikit 12th” on August 9 to 11, 2016 at King Ramkhamhaeng the Great Auditorium. H.M. Queen Sirikit Projects, Thai fabric stores, Thai food stores, and Thai handmade gift shops were exhibited in the Auditorium to promote Thai culture.        

Mr. Satin Soonthornpan, IIS-RU Director, and staffs participated in this ceremony. The staffs wore Thai silk clothing and walked a fashion show to display the beauty of Thai traditional textiles. H.M. Queen Sirikit is regards as a conservator of traditional Thai culture and arts. The queen is the one who initiates Thai silk clothing trend and established Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles at Ratsadakorn-bhibhathana Building, The Grand Palace.
