RAM6000 Knowledge and Morality

          A study of theories, principles, learning processes and approaches in creating knowledge and competency in thinking and inculcating belief in good values. Morality and ethical values, morals, ethics and as guides for appropriate behavior and professionalism; human dignity and pride in Thai identity; inculcating sound awareness of social responsibility; conserving Thai wisdom, natural resources and environment. Practice in self-appraisal, emotion quotient, working with others, setting life and work planning program, vision creation, analysis thinking, synthesis, creative thinking, method and approach in administrating life, family, society with an emphasis on self-study, self-reliance, optimist, continually seeking knowledge and the application of knowledge and skills to their lives and work.

 

RAM6003 Graduate Study

          A study of the philosophy, objectives and procedures governing graduate study; ways In which to conduct research using a variety of sources including analysis and synthesis of data so obtained ; styles and techniques for writhing reports, articles, thematic papers these and dissertations; models for referencing ideas and constructing reference lists; guidance on writing abstracts, scholarly presentations and submitting articles for publication.

 

BUS6000 Techniques for Reading English Business Texts

An application of communicative grammar, discourse analysis and functions of informational structures for planning and teaching appropriate reading techniques in order to guide students and give them practice in reading comprehensively various types of advanced business materials, publications, and textbooks.

 

BUS6001 Financial Accounting

          A study of basic accounting assumptions especially that relates to the interrelationship between assets, liabilities and owner’s equities. The subject also includes the accounting processes from starting of analysis of business transactions, recording accounting entries, and making of the trial balance, to adjusting entries, and preparation of financial statement. The subject also includes the study of current and non-current assets, inventory valuation methods, calculation of cost of goods sold, calculation of the depreciation and amortization, and other liabilities and owner’s equities’ transactions. Finally, the subject emphasizes the holistic understanding of the accounting information for decision making.

 

BUS6010 Business Economics

          Macroeconomics and microeconomics theories are studied and applied to business situations in order to facilitate decision-making relevant to the domestic and international marketplaces.

 

BUS6011 Management and Organizational Behavior

          The subject emphasizes various concepts that relates to management and organizational behavior. Those concepts include the management foundation and roles of management in organization, managing environment and decision making, strategic management and planning. The subject also studies about the corporation of the business, international business, ethics and social responsibilities, organizational environment, human resources management, leadership and motivation, and the creation of communicative team to achieve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Finally, the processes of controlling and following up, including technology and innovation management, and change management will be investigated.

 

BUS6012 Financial Management

          A study of the corporate financial decision-making process. Subject areas included are reviews of financial statements and ratio analysis, the concepts of risk and return, the time value of money, analysis and valuation of bonds and common stocks, measuring the cost of capital, capital budgeting decisions, capital structure, dividend policy, risk management, and mergers and acquisitions. The course also emphasizes the applications of information technology in all phases of the analysis and decision making.

 

BUS6013 Marketing Management

          Advanced study of the rationale for marketing decisions and the application of managerial functions to the analysis of marketing problems and opportunities; developing marketing strategies; planning marketing programs, selecting the appropriate marketing mix; and organizing, implementing, and controlling marketing efforts.

 

BUS6014 Accounting for Executives

          The course is designed to provide the business executives the fundamentals and skills of using accounting information for managerial decision making, planning and control. Topics include financial statement analysis, accounting information management and reporting, cost concepts and cost accounting methods, cost-volume-profit analysis, capital budgeting decision, responsibility accounting, and accounting for profit planning and control, through the use of integrated accounting and managerial information systems.

 

BUS6015 Operations Management

             A study and analysis of production and operations in manufacturing and services industries, emphasizing the applications of operations concepts and quantitative techniques for problems analysis and management decision supports through the management information system. The topics include production and operations strategies, locations analysis, plants layout, product and process design, selection of processes and technologies, project management, logistics and supply chain management and inventory control, quality management, services improvements, human resource in operations management, and maintenance management.

 

BUS6016 Business Research Methodology

          The course focuses on the conduct of research and the use of research findings for business decisions. Emphasis is placed on the logic and methods of problem identification, research designs, data collection methods, data analysis and interpretation. Students are required to design a research project, prepare a written proposal, collect and analyze data and write a research report.

 

BUS7017 Strategic Management

          A study of theories, concepts, and practices of strategic management that includes the application frameworks in various contemporary settings. The subject emphasizes the real world case studies both domestic and international, strategic management research articles for integrated profound knowledge.

 

BUS7100 Managing Human Capital

          A study of philosophy, evolution and functions performed by human resource management professionals. Topics also include recruitment, job analysis, training and development, job evaluation, performance appraisals, collective bargaining and employee health and safety. The course also examines government policies affecting the labor markets and labor relations.  

 

BUS7101 Management of Organizational Change and Development

          This course examines various concepts and methods of managing change and facilitating organization development in today’s complex and turbulent environment. The design and implementation of organizational development interventions will be studied, along with their implications for social responsibility leadership, and organizational learning. Students will experience the practice of organizational development and managing change through an action research project.

 

BUS7104 Management in Global Business Organization

Identification and analysis of management systems in globalization: impacts of economics, social, political, technological and cultural variables on organization management systems. Studying concepts of global business management and, formulating business strategies for global business operations.

         

BUS7106 Current Issues and Case Study in Organization Management

          A study of current issues and case study in the field of organization management. Selected readings in current periodicals and publications are chosen to deal with contemporary problems and issues in organization management. Independent reports, and discussion are utilized.    

 

BUS7096 Independent Study

          Project selected by student in consultation with assigned instructor. The purpose is to permit the student to survey the literature and to conduct research in a specialized area of interest.

 

BUS7097 Comprehensive Examination

Student is required to take a comprehensive examination after completing course works according to the curriculum.

 

Program Completion

          A minimum of 39 credits is necessary to qualify for completion of a program.

The Institute of International Studies, Ramkhamhaeng University, has offered the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) Degree Program since 1992. It provides individuals with advanced academic work in the functional aspects of public and private organizations.

Nowadays, every sector faces the impact of globalization. To understand and adapt to the global business environment will be the key to executive success in international operations. The revised program (in 2004) provides the individual with general competencies for overall management as well as an ability to function effectively in a multicultural and rapidly changing global arena.

Students will develop skills in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data, as well as conceptualizing, evaluating and implementing solutions necessary in addressing complex unstructured business problems.
